THE 14TH COLONY

July 05, 2025 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

In 1775 the British Colony of West Florida waited and watched from afar as 13 other British Colonies voiced rumblings of rebellion. An offer from these colonies moving towards rebellion had been made but met with only silence from British West Florida. Still the clouds of war gathered on the horizon.

Historical interpreters describe and depict daily routines of colonial soldiers, with demonstrations of musket and artillery firing,as well as 18th-century surgical and medical practices. Demonstrations from 10 AM-4 PM, weather permitting.

The program is a lead up to our participation in the America 250 Celebration of the Declaration of Independence. This program is covered in the park entrance fee. For more information please call the park at 1-225-635-3739.
